Overview
- At present, CTC isolation still relies heavily on a far from satisfactory approach that makes use of antibodies reactive with specific antigens or cell sorting by size.
- The team has thus developed a more precise CTC-capturing technique that features condensation, micro-channel cell purification, and automatic fluorescent staining, image recognition, and single-cell trapping.
- Purification of CTCs in blood helps to increase the recovery rate.
Development Process
Over the course of this project under the Applied Research Incubation Program, the team completed the development of CTC capturing and analysis technology and tests on determining the density of CTCs in blood, which in turn can increase the recovery rate. Also established were a technological platform for cell isolation and a quality management mechanism.
