Overview
- As a middle-end ophthalmological device, a standard slit lamp is hardly suitable for emergency rooms, pediatric ophthalmology, clinical care, remote areas, volunteer consultations in developing countries, and other settings with emergency or mobility considerations.
- The team has thus, by drawing on its core competence in optical systems design and digital scaling, developed a much smaller and lighter slit lamp.
- Pocket-sized and easy to disinfect, it is a handy clinical tool for ophthalmologists.
Development Process
Completed items are as follows: an ultralight, scalable slit lamp protype, ergonomic testing, MTF testing, and tests for IEC 60601-1 and IEC 60601-1-2 compliance. On December 4, 2015, BioM-X, Inc. was established.
