Overview
- At most local blood and medical centers, testing by their blood grouping analyzers tends to be a lengthy process. This will hardly work in case of a smaller volume of specimens, last-minute cases, and emergency room requests.
- The team has thus developed a fully automated multichannel disc blood grouping analyzer.
- Capable of quickly conducting tests on 20 microscale specimens in a row.
- Speed up the testing process and keep human errors to a minimum.
Development Process
Over the course of this project under the Applied Research Incubation Program, the team completed the following: technological advantage and market analysis, IP and patent portfolio deployment, integration of reaction and temperature control systems, establishment of an imaging analysis system for blood type testing and antibody screening, and disc barcoding, thereby creating a fully automated blood grouping analysis system. Meanwhile, the team drew from clinical specimens to complete evaluation of this automated system’s reliability and performance. On November 22, 2016, Read Blood Co., Ltd. was established.
