Ultralight Stereoscopic Microscope for Surgery

Overview

  • Expensive and hard to use, high-end surgical microscopes oftentimes do not have room for multiple users at the same time.
  • This novel ultralight stereoscopic microscope integrates optoelectronics, robotics, and ICT technologies and can be applied to neurosurgical, orthopedic, and ophthalmological microsurgeries.
  • This novel ultralight stereoscopic microscope comes with ergonomic design that relieves the discomfort hitherto experienced by medical personnel in microsurgeries, thereby reducing their physical strain.

Development Process

Over the course of this project under the Applied Research Incubation Program, the team completed designing and making a prototype of this new stereoscopic microscope. With a performance superior to that of its optical predecessors, it was proven worthy of clinical applications in trials by 11 doctors. On September 4, 2015, Visionnaire MedTech Co., Ltd. was established.
