Deep01 stands out as Asia’s first AI startup that has secured the clearance not only of the U.S. FDA but also of Taiwan FDA. Its latest product, DeepCT, draws on AI to detect cerebral hemorrhage in brain CT scans with a world-leading accuracy of nearly 95% in 30 seconds. Already put to work at a number of hospitals in Taiwan, DeepCT can serve as both an alarm system for cerebral hemorrhage among ER patients and an aid for speeding up triage and referral evaluation. In addition to installing it in the cloud or mainframe, hospitals are given the option of integrating DeepCT into their PACS or HIS, thereby streamlining physicians’ workflow and sparing patients a long wait. High on its investor list are the world-famous seed investor Plug and Play Ventures and National Tsing Hua University. In 2019, Deep01 won a National Innovation Award and first place in the AWS Cloud Challenge. In 2020, it was ranked by the Ministry of Science and Technology among the “10 Coolest Technology Startups.”
