Overview

  • Alzheimer’s remains a medical conundrum. Nonpharmacological alleviation is simply nonexistent.
  • Low-intensity pulsed ultrasound technology is adopted to stimulate hippocampus and increase several neurotrophic factors, thereby preventing neuron damage and death and improving neurons’ physiological condition.
  • Alleviate Alzheimer’s symptoms and mitigate pharmacological side effects.

Development Process

Over the course of this project under the Applied Research Incubation Program, the team completed optimization of the ultrasound stimulation system. With Taiwan FDA having given the greenlight, a human trial is now under way.
